SUNRISE - A complaint was filed on October 21, 2016, stating that a woman is suing Pet Supermarket after an incident occurred in a store in Sunrise.

According to the complaint, the Plaintiff, Barbara Jackson, was shopping in a store location in Sunrise on December 7, 2016 when she turned the corner of an aisle and struck a shelf that was protruding out of place. 

6The Plaintiff alleges the defendant was negligent as the employees knew or had reasonable care been taken, should have known of the existence of the dangerous condition because it was located in close proximity to employees.

As a result of the incident, the Plaintiff was forced to incur the expense of hospitalization, nursing care, and treatment. Additionally, the Plaintiff suffered pain, disability, disfigurement, and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life. 

Jackson demands judgment against the Defendant for damages in excess of $15,000, costs, and any other relief the Court may deem appropriate. Additionally, the Plaintiff is represented by Kevin B. Dennis, Esq. of Thomas & Pearl, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale.
