NORTH LAUDERDALE - A man from Broward County is suing a School Board for the auto negligence of a bus driver.

The Plaintiff, Miguel Henry, filed a complaint on September 2, 2016 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court against the School Board of Broward County alleging one of their bus drivers operated a motor vehicle negligently, causing a rear-end collision with Miguel's vehicle.

According to the complaint, on January 1, 2014, Janice Dubar negligently operated a 2004 ICCO owned by the School Board, causing it to strike the rear of Miguel's 2005 Mercedes. Janice Dunbar is negligent in failing to keep a proper lookout, to pay attention to the roadway, and to take appropriate evasive actions to avoid an accident. As an employee with the permission, consent, and authority to drive the bus, the School Board is vicariously liable for Janice's negligence. Due to her negligence, Miguel sustained severe and permanent injuries including, but not limited to; cost and expense of medical care, mental and physical pain and suffering, and the inability to lead a normal life.

The Plaintiff demands judgment for damages against the School Board of Broward County in an amount in excess of $15,000.00, interests, costs, and any other relief this court deems just. He is represented by Patrick W. Lawlor, Esq. of Lawlor | Zigler, LLC. in Boca Raton.
