POMPANO BEACH - A man from Broward County is suing a couple for two counts of auto negligence after his pedestrian accident.

The Plaintiff, Richard L. Collins, filed a complaint on September 6, 2016 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court against Helen S. Crisafulli and Dominick J. Crisafulli alleging Helen negligently operated a vehicle owned by Dominick with consent and knowledge so that the vehicle struck Richard.

According to the complaint, on September 11, 2014, Helen operated a 2013 Volkswagen that belonged to Dominick with permission and consent. Helen negligently and carelessly operated and controlled the vehicle in such a way so that the vehicle violently struck the pedestrian, Richard, as he was crossing the street. Due to her negligence, Richard sustained severe and permanent injuries including, but not limited to; pain and suffering, loss of earning capacity, and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life.

On the first count, Helen is found negligent in many ways including, but not limited to; failing to obey traffic signals, yield the right of way, keep a proper lookout, and operate and control her vehicle. On the second count, Dominick is found vicariously liable for Helen's negligence operation of the vehicle.

The Plaintiff requests a trial by jury of all issues and demands judgment against Helen and Dominick Crisafulli for compensatory damages in excess of $15,000.00, costs,and interests. He is represented by Gary S. Genovese, Esq. of Conrad & Scherer, LLP in Ft. Lauderdale.
